Are you interested in learning how to quilt on your sewing machine? Do you know what a walking foot is? Come to this class and we will combine both items to create something other than “stitch in the ditch” quilting. This class will be taught by guest teacher Vicki Close.
Everything (Sewing machine, accessories, sample fabric, etc.) will be provided for this class.
My name is Vicki Close and I’m mostly from Connecticut but love to travel especially for quilting events and classes! I’ve taught and presented at other quilt shops and presentations to local quilt guilds related to quilting on both the domestic and longarm machine.
I run a longarm business called “Kick It Up Quilting” which offers design opportunities for edge to edge and custom quilting. If I had a t-shirt it would say something like: I would rather be quilting than piecing! Quilting is just plain fun!! And, isn’t life supposed to be fun?
I’m offering, for the first time at Schillers, domestic quilting using a walking foot but not just to stitch in the ditch but to go beyond the ditch to create some unique designs you can be proud to have done yourself. You do not have to drop the feed dogs so your machine is in control of the stitch length and you guide the quilt sandwich where you want it to go. We’ll do some design work too so you can “interview” potential designs before quilting them!
