Add a bit of glitz to your holiday dining with these quilted placemats that look like a package - complete with at bow-tie napkin held in place by an accent loop. You will be learning how to quilt the top and attach a binding to the edges. A sewing machine will be provided. This is a companion class to the serger version of this class.

Add a bit of glitz to your holiday dining with these quilted placemats that look like a package – complete with at bow-tie napkin held in place by an accent loop.   You will be learning how to quilt the top and attach a binding to the edges.  A sewing machine will be provided. This is a companion class to the serger version. The project is the same, the techniques are completely different.

Fabric required:

  • 14” x 20” for top of placemat
  • 16” x 22” for back of placemat
  • 16” x 22” batting
  • 6” x 21” for accent strip
  • 18” square for napkin
  • 4 WOF strips of 2 ½ “ for binding  (sewing version)
  • Thread to match for quilting and accent fabric and napkin (don’t forget to consider different bobbin thread if using a different backing.
